MTB Education Camps

Our Objectives

  1. To facilitate learning of a wider range of MTB knowledge.
  2. To assist character development with situational learning.
  3. Deliver an enjoyable MTB camp!

Overview

Eligibility: MTB Tauranga Member, owns a mountain bike, can ride grade 3 trails, known to DirtCraft.
Age – 11 to 14 year old.
Location – Summerhill MTB Park.
Time – 3 day camps

Overnight – Yes
Cost – Tauranga camp $375.

What are MTB Education Camps?

MTB Education Camp (MEC) is a three-day education camp open to all DirtCraft riders within the age bracket.

The camp is delivered in an engaging way to broaden riders knowledge and understanding of the sport in a fun manner. Each camp covers off the following.

Two practical activities:

Team Building

Team Challenges

Two of the following theory sessions activities:

Nutrition

Recovery

Goal Setting

Race Calendar Building

Health & Wellbeing balance

Mental Skills

One of the following practical activities:

Bike Maintenance

Bike Setup

Bike related travel

Along with the following each day:

Mountain Biking

Organic Skill Learning

Leadership opportunities

Resilience building opportunities

Social interaction and friendship building.

Upcoming MTB Education Camps

We have one upcoming MTB Education Camp.

Summerhill MEC

January 31st to February 2nd at Summerhill MTB Park.

Camp Layout – This camp will cover:

Team building & challenges, goal setting, nutrition, bike setup along with riding, skill learning, leadership opportunities, resilience building opportunities, social interaction and friendship building.

Information including gear lists, schedule confirmation, pickup and drop off points, minor details and generic information will be sent out to families once registration shuts around 2 week from the camp commencing.

Spaces for this camp are limited to 15 riders.

Cost

Cost

The registration fee for the MEC includes tent sites/accommodation, venue usage, coaching, management and planning, delivery, one dinner, two lunches, food staples, snacks, activities and resources.

The cost does not cover riding equipment, clothing, tents, sleeping gear, one dinner, one lunch, bike repairs and parts, club membership.

The Tauranga MEC 2025 costs $375 and limited to 15 riders.

Rider Assistance Initiative (RAI)

Our Rider Assistance Initiative aims to allow riders and families to be able to apply for a DirtCraft Scholarship to continue to participate, development and compete in the opportunities offered by DirtCraft. This Initiative is made possible thanks to our financial sponsors and has been setup to enable riders from all different backgrounds to continue to participate in the sport that we love.
