Highfit
Registration opens around the start of April.
- Objectives – Physical training for High School kids.

$75 Concession – 3 sessions
$125 Concession – 7 sessions
$210 Concession – 15 sessions

Our HighFit programme is designed for riders year 9-13. We deliver physical training to improve base endurance that is the foundation for Enduro and Cross Country racing. These sessions are delivered in a social environment, allowing riders to complete their base miles in a safe and social setting.
Sessions will run from 29tth April until 19th September, excluding wet weather days and racing events.
Any unused concessions can be redeemed for DirtCraft credit at the end of September, minus a $25 admin fee.
We expect to deliver around 35 sessions throughout Term 2 and Term 3 (excluding the Holidays).
Prerequisites
- Rider is current Mountainbike Tauranga Club Member.
- Rider has goals set within Cross Country and Enduro.
- Rider has suitable equipment including riding lights.
- Rider has appropriate level of fitness and commitment.
- Rider is Year 9 – 13.
- Riders display appropriate maturity to ride in a dynamic environment.
Session Times and Locations
Tuesday – Historic Village, 4.30pm to 6.30, alternating between steady state and intervals.
Thursday – Historic Village, 4.30pm to 6.30, alternating between steady state and intervals.
Most Fridays – Historic Village, 4:30pm to 6:30, alternating between steady state and intervals.
This season is seeing some signifcant changes to Highfit to add more value to the sessions without losing the cool/fun vibe that Highfit has.
On even days (ie: 4th, 12th and 28th of each month) sessions will be steady state rides which will be steady lower intensity rides for building endurance. We may also sprinkle in some longer intervals in these sessions.
On odd days (ie: 3rd, 9th and 17th of each month) riders will complete a range of shorter intervals which may include sprinting tatics, power application on varied terrain, accelerations, 30sec-1min sprints, 1-5min sprints) There will still be steady state involved in these rides (warm up & cool down)
The catch is DirtCraft will dynamically assess based on who is attending, what their goals are, the vibe and the conditions as to which session is delivered once highfit gets underway.
We expect all riders attending to give their best effort, ride responsibly, encourage others and follow instructions.
