Winter Grom Series

Overview

Eligibility: MTB Tauranga Member, owns a mountain bike, can ride grade 3 trails.

Age: Year 3-6

Date & Time – Sundays from 1:00pm.*

Location: The location will vary between weeks. We will primarily operate the programme from Oropi MTB Park, in addition we will have weeks at Summerhill MTB Park, with the option of an Urban Trail/Pump track week. **

Sessions: We aim to deliver x14 sessions across Term 2 & 3.

*Start and finish time of the programme will be confirmed once we know how many riders we have registered. This will be confirmed with registered riders.

**Location each week will be communciated with registered riders.

The Programme

Our Winter Grom Series is designed to keep riders engaged, progressing, and having fun each week with a fresh focus and new challenges.

Throughout the terms, sessions will rotate through a variety of elements including fun adventure weeks to build confidence and enjoyment on the bike, skills weeks to develop skills, cross country race weeks, enduro race weeks and miscellaneous weeks that mix things up with unique activities and challenges.

This structure keeps things exciting while helping every rider grow their skills, fitness, and love for mountain biking.

Sessions

We aim to deliver 14 sessions across Terms 2 and 3. Registration options will be available for both terms combined, a single term, or on a flexible per-week basis.

Sessions will run on the first 14 Sundays available (excluding Sunday 26th April and the 5th & 12th July – school holidays), taking into account weather conditions, coach health, and availability.

This timeframe includes the final Sunday of the April school holidays (19th April) and the final Sunday of July school holidays. (19th July).

Due to King’s Birthday Weekend, that session will be delivered on the Monday instead of Sunday.

In the event of unforeseen circumstances preventing all 14 sessions from being delivered, the programme will still conclude at the end of the scheduled term.
